Help me get back on the road to rebuilding my life.

I was released from prison 5 months ago since being released from prison I've attended all my classes maintained employment and spend time with my son. I bought a 2004 Ford Taurus for under 500 bucks that had some pretty major engine issues. I did the repairs myself so I'd have reliable transportation. After leaving HEB earlier going down highway 87 we got to the part of the road where two lanes combined into one. I was in the right hand lane and there was a vehicle behind me in the left hand lane that was trying to pass me before he ran out of passing Lane. Since he's not going to have enough room and was already upside I put the brakes to slow down for him he veered into my lane. All it took was a little bit of moisture on the road and I end up hitting the telephone pole at 60mph. This vehicle did not slow down did not stop. A vehicle that was falling behind bus around a half mile back seen the incident and called the cops to let them know that I have been ran off the road. Unfortunately they were not able to see a clear description or license plate number. When police arrived they did not search my car they did not give me roadside sobriety test after I was done getting what I needed out of my vehicle I had to walk up to the window to ask them if they needed anything from me. it's upsetting that they weren't able to get the license plate number but at least the police didn't harass me. In order to continue to be successful and get my classes completed and maintain employment I need a vehicle living in the country. I'm not picky. I will drive anything. Their motorcycles online for as low as $500 that aren't pretty but will get me where I'm going cars for $750 bucks let's smoke but arrive. Any help would be appreciated I feel foolish reaching out but this could be a major influence of the trajectory of my life. Recovery is possible. A life after addiction is possible. I've been doing my best and I'm going to continue to do my best. With a little help my best won't just be sitting at home waiting to get violated. Thank you for your time and consideration God bless.
