Color guard has been my passion and my livelihood for years. Recently, while returning home to Palm Desert from a regional competition in Manhattan Beach, I was involved in a car accident. I’m incredibly grateful to have survived with only minor bruises, and I feel so lucky to be alive and able to continue pursuing everything I’m passionate about. While I’m still shaken up from the experience, the reality is that I’m now facing the unexpected expense of replacing my car.
As someone who teaches at Eastlake High School in Chula Vista—over two hours away—and travels frequently for competitions and rehearsals, reliable transportation is essential for both my work and my dreams. This accident has created a huge obstacle. Not only do I need to replace my car, but I also still have to raise money to march my age out with the Blue Devils drum corps, a goal I've worked toward for so long. The added expense of finding a safe, dependable vehicle with features like lane assist and brake control is overwhelming. Without a car, I can't continue teaching, traveling to competitions, or supporting my students and the arts community I love.
I'm reaching out for help because I truly can't do this alone. Your support will help me get back on the road, continue sharing my passion, and keep pursuing my dreams. Thank you to everyone who's supported me through my color guard journey and for the constant encouragement to keep me in the organization. I also want to thank everyone in advance who donates—anything helps. I will document my journey, as this is something I wouldn't be able to do without your help.
