Hi, my name is Bri Sperring, and I'm fundraising because I’ve recently experienced a devastating setback that has left me without transportation—and without the ability to get to work.
I work full-time as a Behavior Technician at North Carolina Solutions, a nonprofit organization providing essential services to autistic children and their families. Unfortunately, my only reliable method of transportation, a Hyundai sedan, was stolen right outside my home in the night. I discovered it missing just as I was leaving for work.
This incident comes just one month after the same car was broken into and nearly stolen. I paid $900 out-of-pocket to repair those damages, as my insurance did not cover them.
To make matters worse, the thief also hit my second vehicle, a broken-down VW GTI that I had planned to sell to help make ends meet. That car now has thousands of dollars in new damage and is not drivable. The thief didn’t stop there—five of my neighbors’ cars were hit as well, with one being completely totaled.
Due to a serious error by my insurance agent, important paperwork was never filed, and my insurance was unknowingly canceled just weeks before this happened. If my Hyundai is recovered, none of the damage will be covered. If it isn’t, I am left with the impossible choice of spending thousands to repair the GTI or finding a new vehicle entirely—either way, it’s far beyond what I can afford right now.
I’m reaching out for help because I’ve run out of options. Any contribution will go directly toward repairing or replacing a vehicle so I can continue getting to work and supporting myself. Every little bit helps, and I am deeply grateful for any support—whether it's a donation or simply sharing this with others.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
