It’s really hard for me to write this, and even harder to ask for help. But I’ve reached a point where I no longer see another option. I’m currently in a very difficult financial situation, and I’m asking for support with deep humility.

Over the past year, I’ve been struggling to stay afloat. I always did my best to manage, covering rent, bills, and slowly paying off debt that has caused me a lot of anxiety. Unfortunately, after a short-term job contract and six months of support from the Jobcenter, my application for continued help was rejected. I’ve been actively looking for a job and applying every day, but so far I haven’t found anything.

Right now, I don’t have a steady income, and my bank account is €3,000 in the negative. I can’t afford rent, bills I owe to my flatmate, or even health insurance. If I do manage to find a job soon (and I’m really trying every day), I won’t receive my first salary until the end of August. That gap in time is something I just can’t bridge on my own.

To make things even harder, my mother recently got sick. She suddenly lost hearing in one ear, and doctors are still trying to understand the neurological cause. I grew up in a working-class family with only my mother and my sister, and we never had much. I know she’s also struggling financially, and I wish I could help her or at least visit her. But right now, I can’t afford even that.

This GoFundMe is something I’m doing with a heavy heart. It feels so hard to ask for help, especially in a world that often pushes us to be self-reliant and so individualistic no matter what. But I’m doing this because I genuinely need support to get through this moment.
