Hi, I’m Skye the founder of Alysium Self care .

If you’ve been following my journey for a while, you’ll know that the last few years haven’t been the easiest for me financially. I’ve been doing everything I can to get back on my feet, grow my business and build a better future. I never expected to be in a position where I’d be asking for help, but after a few customers suggested setting up a fundraiser, I decided to put my pride aside.

A few days ago, I was involved in a hit and run accident that left me with a fractured arm, a fractured ankle and several other injuries. The doctors have told me that recovery will likely take around 6–8 weeks, although it ultimately depends on how well my body heals. During that time, I won’t be able to work properly, which is especially difficult as I’m self employed.

I live by myself and wasn’t prepared for something like this to happen. Most of my family and close friends live in London while I’m in Colchester, so I don’t have a large support network nearby. As a small business owner, if I can’t work, I don’t earn, and unfortunately there isn’t anyone else who can step in and keep things running.

Many of you will also know that I’ve been struggling with heat related illness for quite some time now. Before the accident, I was already trying to save for an air conditioning unit for my workspace, as the heat has made it incredibly difficult to work during the summer.

The air conditioning would not only help me stay cool while recovering during the current heatwave, but it would also allow me to return to work more comfortably and consistently once I’m healed, helping me get your orders made and dispatched much more quickly.

Any money raised will go towards helping with my essential living costs while I’m unable to work, purchasing an air conditioning unit, and keeping Alysium going while I recover.
