Help me get back on my feet ahead of my bday

Hi. For those who know me, I have been battling severe GI and chronic illness for over a year. This has impacted my quality of life and ability to work, among other things. I have had numerous visits to urgent care, specialist physicians, and a myriad of tests, with no concrete answers or results.

On Oct 20, I was struck with sudden, severe upper abdominal pain. Despite my best efforts to treat and manage at home, I had to call an ambulance for transport to the emergency room, where it was found that I had a large clot in the venous structure of my abdomen that was affecting my stomach, liver, and small intestine. I was already showing signs of ischemia (tissue death). I was admitted immediately.

I spent the next ten days on various IV medications, including blood thinners and nutritional support, as I was unable to eat or drink anything by mouth. The goal was to save the affected tissue and avoid surgery, either for the clot or to have to resect my small intestine.

After ten long days, I was finally cleared to go home. Not because everything is back the way it should be just yet, but there was progress being made and the team feels it was safe enough for me to continue managing at home.

I still have the clot. It's smaller, and the hope is that with ongoing blood thinners it will continue to break down until it clears the space. I will have to be on blood thinners for life to try to avoid something like this ever happening again. I am also just now starting on foods. But so far, with soft foods, careful consideration about the diet, and making sure to take things slowly, I have not yet had a bad reaction.

I am hopeful and optimistic about recovering from this, but my doctors have cautioned me to be patient. This won't resolve in a matter of days. I'm doing my best, but of course I just want to be well again.

Understandably, this has taken my already shaky financial circumstances and shredded it to bits. I am insured, thankfully, but I still expect a hefty bill once insurance pays their part. I've not been able to work, or course, and currently need to continue to rest and heal before I'd be 100%.

I'm trying to keep my head above water with my basic living expenses in the near future - rent is due today, utilities shortly, and I'll need to buy and have a bit of a modified diet for awhile, until we are sure my GI system can handle regular food. And if I'm able, I hope to raise enough to put towards the copays and other bills that will begin rolling in soon, I'm sure.

Ambulance ride, ER with several speciality tests, and then ten days in patient between the PCU and then the trauma floor is going to be costly.

Anything will help, and will be deeply appreciated. I'm committed to follow through with my aftercare and getting past this, hopefully in time for my birthday and the upcoming holidays, just weeks away!

Thank you for your time and consideration. I appreciate everyone's support, kindness, thoughts, and prayers. I am lucky to have a great network of people.
