A few months ago, my life changed forever in a matter of seconds.

I was involved in a devastating accident with an 18-wheeler that left me with life-threatening injuries. I suffered broken bones throughout my body, including both of my femurs, my arm, and several ribs. Internal bleeding, lacerations to my spleen, blood clots in my lungs, and even dying on the operating table. Since then, I’ve endured multiple surgeries, countless doctor’s appointments, physical therapy, and months of painful recovery. Every day has been a battle just to regain the ability to walk, move, and live a normal life again.

Before the accident, I worked hard making an honest living in the oilfield, a career I took pride in because it allowed me to provide for myself and, most importantly, for my two beautiful children. Since the wreck, I haven’t been physically able to return to work. Losing my income has been one of the hardest parts of this journey, and watching my children’s mother struggle to carry the financial burden without the help I used to provide has been heartbreaking.

Just when I thought I was getting closer to putting my life back together, my doctors informed me that I now need knee surgery to repair damage caused by the accident. Without this surgery, returning to the physically demanding work I know and love may not be possible. The surgery represents hope—a chance to get back on my feet, return to work, and once again be the father and provider I want to be. Unfortunately, after months without income, I simply cannot afford the procedure.

To make matters even more difficult, the accident completely totaled my truck. Without reliable transportation, getting to medical appointments, handling everyday responsibilities, and preparing to return to work has become another constant challenge.

I’ve always believed in working hard and taking care of my own responsibilities. Asking for help is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but I’ve reached a point where I can’t overcome these obstacles on my own.
