Help Me Get Back on My Feet
My name is Hasib, and I am a professional Muay Thai fighter.
I moved to the UK at 15 years old with very little English, no confidence, and no clear direction. Like many immigrants, I had to rebuild myself from the ground up. Training eventually became my anchor. Through Muay Thai I found discipline, purpose, and belief in myself.
Fighting isn’t just something I do — it’s my career, my structure, and my way of building a future for myself.
What Happened
Last year April 2025, I suffered a serious knee injury during training. I later found out I have:
• A full ACL tear
• A torn meniscus
Since the injury, simple daily activities have become difficult. I cannot walk for long periods without pain, and because I’ve been compensating on my other leg, I am now starting to feel strain there as well.
As an athlete, this has been physically and mentally devastating.
I first sought help back in April.
Despite my knee being visibly swollen and being unable to put weight on my leg (I was on crutches), I was discharged without a scan — twice.
After months of GP visits, referrals, physio, and waiting, I finally received imaging confirming the ACL and meniscus tears.
I am currently still waiting within the NHS system for surgery, with no clear timeline. It is March 2026 now and it could take anywhere up to a year from now.
The Reality
This injury has affected far more than just my knee.
• I have been unable to train properly for months
• I have been unable to compete
• My income as a professional athlete has been heavily impacted
• My mental health has taken a real hit during this period
Anyone who knows me knows how much structure, discipline, and purpose training gives me. Being forced to the sidelines has been one of the hardest challenges I’ve faced.
Why I’m Asking for Help
I have been advised that going privately could allow me to receive surgery much sooner and give me the best chance of returning to high-level competition safely.
Unfortunately, the cost of private ACL and meniscus surgery, along with rehabilitation, is more than I can manage alone — especially while unable to compete and earn normally as I can’t work properly either.
That’s why I am asking for support.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward:
• Knee surgery
• Post-operative rehabilitation
• Physio and return-to-sport recovery
My Promise
If you know me, you know I am not someone who gives up easily.
This setback will not be the end of my story.
With the right surgery and recovery, my goal is simple:
To come back stronger, compete again, and continue building the career I have sacrificed so much for.
Thank You
Whether you donate, share, or simply take the time to read this — thank you.
Your support genuinely means more than you know.
This is just the story so far.
