Hi, I'm Bonnie (this fundraiser has been set up with the help of my friend, Mary - all funds will be going towards myself, Bonnie). My mobility scooter has broken down, and I am needing £2000 to replace it.
The scooter I originally purchased for my aunt when she lived with us and have been relying on since my cancer diagnosis and the walking difficulties and fatigue the treatment has left me with has broken down, and for almost 2 weeks it is now uneconomical to repair. To allow me to retain some level of independence and get me out of the house I am now needing a replacement.
I've discussed this with the local mobility shop and he is still willing to take my old one in exchange against a new scooter and give me £300 for it. He will also discount a new scooter for me as we are long term loyal customers. I'm now needing around £2000 to fund the replacement. This new model is also a lighter weight model meaning more people will be able to help and support me with lifting it into a vehicle.
I hate asking for help and this feels alien to me despite having put in to many fundraisers myself over my lifetime.
If anyone feels able to help me achieve my goal to allow me to replace my scooter with one I can rely on to take me to my hobbies and out shopping and away for UK breaks that would be so appreciated.
