I'm buying a laser cutter to make a theme park.

I'm still keeping it up because all of it is still true and this is still the best way to support me if you want to.

Dearest Potential Patrons,

My name is Stevenson Anthony Streeper, and I design escape rooms, board games, and IRL game experiences. Six years back I created The Puzzalarium: the first escape room in San Diego, and the ~25th in the country. It played host to award winning escape rooms, and my game The Floor is Lava has copies in Las Vegas and the Netherlands.

Unfortunately, COVID has done a fantastic job of making these things not exist anymore, and has made things tricky for me going forward. Therefore, it's time to pivot. I'm making a theme park.

You heard me. I'm making a theme park. A cyberpunk IRL RPG theme park filled with escape rooms, puzzles, hacking, trading, and so much more. It's called Electra City, and it's been in the works for the past two years.

You are opening a theme park in a pandemic?
Correction: I am building a theme park in a pandemic. To be opened upon said pandemic subsiding. I know it seems like this thing is going to go on forever, but this too shall pass, and when it does, you and I both know you want to dress up in sick techno-cosplay and come play a real life RPG hacker/social deduction/escape room thing with power gloves and stuff.

So why do you need $10,670?
Because my park will have a lot of itty bitty games and puzzles. And laser cutters are awesome. If I can get this single tool, I will have enough resources to make the vast majority of what I need to bring my games to life.

What's a laser cutter?
A laser cutter, or laser CNC, is a big metal box you put wood or plastic inside of that allows you to cut said wood or plastic with lasers. Duh. And if you are going to ask why, look at this and tell me you don't now want one too.

What do I get out of this?
If I am able to purchase this thing, I will have the ability to create my games far more easily, cheaply, and to a higher quality than ever before. As thanks, Puzzalarium will create an interactive game to play online and release it for free. All donors will also get their name engraved on a plaque that will be mounted behind the cutter. And who knows? Free goodies and giveaways seem like the least I can do if we manage to pull this crazy idea off.

It's a simple transaction really. This house you see here cost me hundreds and a month of work to make. With a laser CNC cutter, I could quadruple the quality, halve the cost, and take less time making it. (Assembly still takes awhile) If I get a CNC, you get free content, and down the road, an IRL Cyberpunk RPG.

Thank you very much for your consideration. If you wish to see what becomes of me, I encourage you to sign up for my mailing list here.
