Help Me Get a Double Lung Transplant
Donation protected
"Help Orok Breathe Again: A Father of Four Fighting for His Life" Orok Edem, a 45 year old Nigerian American husband and father of four living in Atlanta, is battling for his life due to Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, a rare genetic disorder that severely damages the lungs. His health crisis began in 2021 after a sudden pulmonary embolism, which led to his diagnosis.
Since then, Orok has been on 24/7 oxygen support and unable to live fully or be active in his children’s lives. His condition has progressed, and doctors have now told him that only a double lung transplant can save his life without it, he may have just 1–2 years left.
Though approved for transplant, the financial costs including surgery, medications, relocation, and lost income are too high for his family to manage alone. Orok is seeking donations and support to help fund his life-saving treatment.
All funds donated will be used to pay for out of pocket expenses, lodging at specialized facility post transplant, transportation post transplant and life long medication needs.
A lifelong community volunteer, I
now asking others for help to give him a chance to live, breathe, and be present for his family again. He also requests prayers and shares for his story.
Support can make the difference between life and death .
