Okay, this isn't something I would normally do, but I'm in kind of an emergency situation. This year has been a really rough one for me, as it has for many others. I started out the year being told that I was going to be laid off. Unemployment wasn't enough to cover rent through October, but we managed to scrape by with a little help. I got a great new job, but health issues have been plaguing my family. Then just over this last month, we went from being a two-car household to a zero-car household. Work starts up again on January 5th, and I have no way to get there. Public transportation takes 3 hours each way, no one at my work lives around here, and renting a car or taking an Uber or Lyft isn't financially possible. I can't afford to lose this job. I'm hoping to raise enough funds to, along with what I can scrape together, buy a reliable used car to commute back and forth.
