Help me fundraise for wards D10 NSPU facilities for patients

As many people know, when I was 17 I had spinal fusion surgery which sadly went wrong and the surgeon essentially placed a screw into my spinal canal&cord and left it there to damage my spinal cord forever, I was then completely ignored and fobbed off or ‘lost in the system’ as they said, until I was paralysed from the breast bone down. I finally managed to meet a new consultant who over the last 2 years has done 11 operations so far to try to remove as much damage as he can that the previous surgeon caused (and has still never apologised for can I just add).

I will probably need these operations and these wards I’m about to talk about for the rest of my life.

The wards which I stay on when in hospital (D10&NSPU at Queens Medical Centre Notts) sometimes for months at a time are so underfunded. I was going to do this all off my own back and money as a nice gesture for them from me as the staff are all so amazing and look after me like they’re my family. However, someone recommend making this page to see if anyone else would want to contribute to help me.

I was just hoping to buy lots of nice essential items for the patients on the ward, to make their stay nicer and more bare able. I’ve sat and watched these lovely women hardly get any visitors to bring them any new toiletries/home comforts and sometimes they are there for weeks/months on end.

The ward has essential items obviously (not trying to say the ladies are left dirty lol) such as shower gel/shampoo but as this is the NHS, you can only imagine the type of things they’re using don’t scream nice, or make them feel any nicer either. It’s a bit of a pick me up during such an awful stint after neurosurgery and also a thank you to the staff on the wards who do such an amazing job.

Anything at all would help, and if you don’t want to either that’s fine - just a share would be appreciated :)

Thank you!
