This challenge is deeply personal to me. As a breast cancer survivor, I know firsthand the fear, uncertainty, and resilience that come with a cancer diagnosis. Cancer changes you forever, and every day I am grateful for the doctors, researchers, caregivers, family members, and friends who help people navigate that journey.
This year, I am also walking in honor of my dear friend, Jen Chan, who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. While I have reached survivorship, Jen is in the middle of her fight. Her courage, determination, and grace inspire me every day, and I am proud to dedicate these miles to her.
I am also walking for:
• Everyone currently facing a cancer diagnosis
• Survivors celebrating another year of life
• Those living with metastatic cancer
• Caregivers who show up every day with strength and love
• Family members and friends supporting loved ones through treatment
• Those we have lost and continue to remember
Cancer touches nearly every family and community. Whether you’ve experienced it yourself or watched someone you love go through it, you know the impact it can have physically, emotionally, and financially.
The American Cancer Society funds lifesaving research and provides critical programs and services that help patients and families when they need it most. Every dollar raised helps move us closer to better treatments, more survivors, and ultimately a world without cancer.
My goal is to walk 62 miles during the month of July—one mile, one step, and one donation at a time.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to support this challenge. No gift is too small, and every contribution makes a difference.
Thank you for supporting this cause, honoring those affected by cancer, and helping bring hope to so many families.
For Jen. For survivors. For fighters. For caregivers. For those we miss. For a future without cancer.
With gratitude,
Nina
