Help Fund the Book They Tried to Write for Me

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Axel.

Last year, my mom published a book about me without my consent. She wrote about my transition, my autism, and my mental health, but filtered everything through her grief and fear. It was her version of me, shaped by her need to make sense of who I am on her terms.

As a trans and neurodivergent person, I learned early to stay small and to keep other people comfortable. I've spent most of my life being shaped by what others needed me to be—mislabelled and narrated by people who never asked what it actually felt like to be me.

Now, I’m writing my own book. Not out of revenge, but to set the record straight, to reclaim my story, and to make space for other trans and neurodivergent people to feel represented, not just talked about.

This book explores what it’s like to navigate gender, disability, family, and survival in a world that keeps trying to write the story for you. It asks what it means to be seen,—and how we define love, truth, identity, and family when we’re finally allowed to speak for ourselves, not just in theory, but in practice.

If you’ve ever wanted to unmask, speak up, or take your story back, this book is for you.

Funds will support writing time, editing, legal review, sensitivity readers, production, and outreach. Any support—financial or just helping this reach more people—is deeply appreciated.

Thank you for reading. And thank you for helping me write the story that was never theirs to tell.
