Help Me Fund My Research Trip to the Peruvian Amazon!

As many of you know, my roots run deep in Peru. I was adopted from a small town along the Amazon River, and much of my biological family still lives there. Now, as I near the completion of my degree at the University of Washington, I have the opportunity to return—not just to reconnect, but to conduct research that moves towards protecting this incredible region. This trip will help me finalize my degree, as I wish to conduct my final project based on my work in this region of Peru.

My project focuses on conservation efforts in the Amazon rainforest, indigenous sovereignty, and the biodiversity that makes this place one of the most ecologically rich in the world.

However, as a full-time student balancing life in Seattle, I don’t have the funds to finance this trip on my own. I know times are tough (and incredibly stressful for others as well), but if you’re able to contribute even $1, it would help me get one step closer to making this research happen. If you can’t donate, sharing this post and spreading the word would mean the world to me.

The money goes towards basic travel funds such as flights, stays, travel within the country and the money to support my apartment (and kittens :) ) back at home while I'm gone. I actually need more than I am posting for, but i figure anything is a good start and helps build the momentum to get this trip going! If I don't make the amount needed through this, I will figure it out, I am scrappy after all ;)
