My name is William Balderston and I am working hard to raise funds for next school year's tuition and hockey program along with my parents.
I am a hard-working thirteen-year-old from Magog. I am a strong athlete and enjoy working very hard at school, hiking and chess. In my spare time I volunteer at church, a local retirement home and I work for my neighbours doing yardwork, pet-sitting, and other small jobs. Hockey is my passion and I want to go as far as I can in hockey. I started playing municipal hockey but practices were limited in my small area. I always felt picked-over and overlooked. My parents drove me all over, even to the U.S., to get extra training. I dreamed of attending a local private high school that is known for its elite hockey program where I knew I would practice 5x a week and progress quickly. My dream came true last year when I tried out for my dream school’s hockey team. My Christmas gift was opening an envelope containing my acceptance letter! My grades and skills had earned me a place on their roster. I am very proud of my school and it feels like home. I love English and Math. I work hard, have received academic honours and have been told I’m the most improved player on my team. What I love about my school is how kind everyone is, how I am getting a great education and the best hockey training.
Unfortunately with rising costs and my parents’ divorce we will struggle to pay the full tuition next year. My mom works two jobs and I work as much as I can to help contribute. I am willing to do small jobs in exchange for your donation. Any amount makes a difference. Thank you for considering helping me continue my dream and reach my full potential at my dream school!
