Help Me Fund My First Solo Album!

Hi!

My name is Hulda, I am a singer/musician from Iceland.

I've been in several bands throughout my career as a vocalist and co-writer, such as the bands Aragrúi and Kiriyama Family, where I've learned how to create amongst friends and colleagues! Recently however I've decided to move to Berlin with my family to make my dream come true of releasing my own music from my own heart!

The music I am making these days could be described as "alternative" but flows mostly along the lines of electronic synth pop, with artists like Djo, Fka Twigs and Kimbra being amongst my biggest production and soundscape inspirations for this album and my music overall. My music is derived from real-life scenarios, turned into a fictional world where I can express myself to the fullest.

The most recent album I released was with my band Kiriyama Family called LP3. the whole album is made of nearly fully mixed demos and songs that we unfortunately lost the sessions of and only had some half mixed mp3's of. I have also competed as a backing vocalist for Eurovision with the act Daði Freyr og Gagnamagnið where we placed 4th - during Covid times. I have a degree in audio engineering and acting for film. I have been an assistant teacher in video editing at Kvikmyndaskóli Íslands and I am currently completing my 1st year of studies in the Electronic Music Production and Performance Bachelors program at Catalyst here in Berlin and performed at many various festivals around Iceland and Europe with my bands.

I´m a married mom of a toddler and two dogs. I have spent about 13 years in the Icelandic music scene, run venues/bars and have always had 2-3 jobs alongside school since I was 15. I've been in all kinds of bands and projects and now finally I want to make time for myself to do my own thing, my own music and focus fully on that. By donating to this fundraiser you can help me make my dream come true! Being an independant artist, working with promising or professional people takes time and money and is no small thing <3 !

When this project is released, I will be focusing on live-performance and touring and I would love to meet you wonderful people who decide to support me through the creative process!
