Hello I'm Jiyoon, international film student studying film in Royal Holloway.

I'm a Seoul/London Based film maker. My work focuses on feminism, realism, post-modernism and music.

I will put a link of my works. Please check it out!

So for my final project, I decided to do a Super 8 experimental film about Nostalgia, Anemoia, Subculture and nightlife.

In more detail the experimental film that explores how media constructs and manipulates nostalgia.

When we try to recreate “beautiful moments from the past,” the presence of a camera and lighting already alters the reality—people perform differently, and the scene becomes staged. This tension between authenticity and manipulation is central to the work.

Drawing on ideas from Baudrillard, Deleuze, Lacan, Derrida, and Walter Benjamin, the film examines how images shape our emotions and how nostalgia often emerges from reconstructed or idealised memories.

The project combines newly shot footage, archival images, and documentation of the filming process itself to reveal how media constructs the very feelings it claims to capture. Your support will help complete and exhibit this work!

SO I need you guys to help me buy 3 cartridges of Super 8mm films. It will cost 300-400pound including shipping, developing and scanning!

Rest of the money will be my travel and venue entry cost!

My work will be shared after it submitted so tune on till April.

Thanks for reading my story and considering the donation!
