Hello, I'm Deborah! I am making this GoFundMe because I am in dire need of a surgery called a reduction mammoplasty (breast reduction). I have wanted this surgery since I was 17 years old as my chest has always been disproportionate to the rest of my body. Transparently, it started as a cosmetic thing. I didn't like the way I looked. As I have gotten older, this problem has changed from cosmetic to medical. My larger chest makes things like working out, standing up, and even sitting down extremely uncomfortable and even painful on my back. If I could be horizontal all day, I would lol. I even tried physical therapy first to see if that could take away this back pain. It was unsuccessful. I was counting on insurance covering this surgery because my doctor referred me and I met all of the qualifications for this surgery to be covered (pendulous breasts, chronic thoracic back pain, and candidal intertrigo). Unfortunately, I found out that my insurance doesn't cover this surgery as a benefit. It is looked at as just cosmetic. But it is not just cosmetic to me. It is medically necessary for me to improve my mobility. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery (and what insurance won’t cover) is beyond what I can manage on my own right now. Your donations would go towards surgical costs, anesthesia, and hospital fees. This surgery would be completely life-changing for me. It would improve my quality of life drastically.
