Asalamaulaikum wa rahmtullahi wa barakatu hu, I am a sister who is 19 years old and have been diagnosed with a gum disease. Gum disease is serious as usually 60 year olds get this and it is the major cause of tooth loss. I have been getting treatments at Behrens Dental practice which costed £4k. Laser periondontal treatments but still not cured. They did a bacteria test result and discovered a harmful bacteria is in my mouth with high levels. actinomycetemcomitans. This bacteria is responsible for causing aggressive, chronic periodontitis. It also travels in the blood stream harming other organs and reaching the brain causing damage to the organs. Hence I am always in pain. Extreme pain with gum, jaw, head pain as well as severe tintitus (ringing in both ears and hearing loss).
I also have been diagnosed with Hypertrichosis with gingival/hyperlasia overgrowth. This is an embarrassing condition where there’s an overgrowth of gums and hair all over the body. There are two causes for this, either cancer or a genetic mutation. Hypertrichosis causes oral issues too such as tooth decay, gum issues etc so this means I can’t do my gum graft surgery to fix my gum recession until both my gum disease and Hypertrichosis is resolved. Without gum surgery I’ll lose my teeth. My Hypertrichosis treatments may involve gene therapy alongside meds and electrolysis. The symtoms need to be destroyed as they can later form cancer cells in the hair. There is a high risk. At the moment my fundraiser is to fund for my electrolysis (Hypertrichosis treatments) and my oral surgery. I have been neglected by GP and so my symtoms have spread so fundraiser is costly as electrolysis has to also be repeated for it to work. My oral surgery is bewcsue I am suffering from ear and gum pain and jaw pain because my wisdom teeth needs to be removed as they can’t fit on my jaw it’s overcrowded.
I have no family support at all and depending on the ummah. I am always in pain and struggling with my gums. There’s been recession. I need gum graft, wisdom tooth removal and Hypertrichosis treatments
