I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help, but life has thrown me some tough challenges lately. After moving away from my home state, I spent the last two years working hard, building my credit, and was finally able to buy a new truck last year. Within just six months, the transmission failed, and with the truck being over 100,000 miles, there was no warranty to help cover the cost. The repair is a major expense, and I still owe a significant amount on the truck.

Back home, I could always find side work or trade favors to get by, but since moving, I haven’t made many contacts. My work keeps me out of town, and I don’t have a local support network yet. I tried to get help from a mechanic who seemed willing to work with me, letting me pay half up front and make payments. Unfortunately, after a month and a half of waiting, I discovered he never ordered the part and just took my money. Now, I’m having to take him to court, but even if I win, there’s no guarantee I’ll get paid back anytime soon.

I need my truck to get back to work and to take care of my three daughters and family responsibilities. Being laid off in December and struggling to get unemployment has made things even more difficult. I’ve tried to get a loan, but with no collateral and being recently laid off, I haven’t had any luck. If anyone can help out, it would mean the world to me and my family.
