I recently purchased a used vehicle from a private seller, trusting that it was in good condition. Just a few days after bringing it home, the brakes started squealing, so I replaced the brake pads. Unfortunately, as soon as I drove away from the shop, the caliper broke off, leaving me with no brakes and a lot of panic. Thankfully, I managed to get the car home safely.
A mobile mechanic told us the problem was the master cylinder, so we paid him to install a new one. Sadly, he used unclean brake fluid, which ended up damaging the control arm and the box that dispenses fluid to each brake line. Now, my car is at Walt’s Brake and More in Ocala, Florida. The initial diagnosis was a new master cylinder, but today I learned that the problem is much worse: the car needs a dealer-only part, and the total repair bill is much higher than I can afford on my own. I have managed to save some money, but I am struggling to cover the rest.
This car is my only way to earn a living as a Spark driver, and I am supposed to start a new job with Amazon on Friday. I am doing my best not to lose hope, but I can’t do this alone. I am reaching out to my family, friends, and community for help. Any support you can give will make a huge difference and help me get back on my feet. Thank you for considering a donation and for sharing my story.
