I have 21 credits left to earn my Bachelors of Psychology, and my wife and I are using my Masters/PhD degree in Clinical Psychology as a way to get my wife and I to somewhere safer for trans people. Alabama is going to start getting real ugly in January when our somewhat OK with LGBTQ people Governor is replaced with current Senator Tommy Tuberville. As such Alabama will become the next Texas/Idaho/Kansas/Tennessee in short order. I’m unable to transfer as my last 60 credits have to come from my current university and the only classes I have remaining are 3000/4000 level Psychology classes so I can’t even take some community college credits to save some money.

This is my third attempt at university over the last 18 years and I’ve hit the limit for the Pell Grants and student loans. We tried applying for private student loans as a last ditch effort and my wife and I were denied due to our credit. My friends and family are also unable to help right now, even if it was as a loan. Scholarships are also not an option due to living in Alabama while attending a school in Tennessee.

I already had to sit out Spring semester due to money and had to reapply for admission. I’m not worried about missing summer as the deadline is so close, and I can skip Summer without penalty other than graduating Summer 2027 instead of Spring.

Summer: $3451 by may 26th

Fall: $6594 by August 13th

Spring: $5400 by ~Jan 12th - This is tentatively covered.
