Hi, my name is Yuki and I am currently in my final year at the International College Of Liberal Arts (ICLA) in Japan, majoring in Psychology. I am just two semesters away from graduating and I am reaching out with deep hope and gratitude to ask for your support.
Over the past few years, I have worked hard to pursue my dream of becoming a counseling psychologist - someone who can listen, support, empathize and help guide people through life's challenges, This dream is very personal to me since I grew up in an environment where mental health has been considered a taboo subject and coming from a broken family, it has been very difficult for me to talk to someone about my struggles.
I also have seen a lot of people around me refusing to seek help because of the fear of societal labels and judgements. I have seen children suffering because their guardians are avoidant towards their mental health. I have grown up to understand and strongly believe mental health matters deeply and I want to help people feel heard and understood, especially those who might not have the access or support.
Despite having a prolapsed disc, I have been trying my best to manage financially, since I entered college, by doing part time jobs while trying to keep my CGPA stable so that I can later apply to a good master's school to pursue my dream. Although, working multiple part time jobs have strained me physically, my goal to spread awareness and help people kept me going.
Unfortunately, I have hit a tough spot now and it has also become very difficult for my parent to assist me financially since she needs to fund my sibling's education as well. I am now facing a shortage of funds needed to complete my final two semesters and I cannot afford to back out at this last stage.
That is why I have started this fundraiser. Each semester costs around 3,300 GBP (4,500 USD) and I am hoping to raise 7,000 GBP (9000 USD) before this year ends, which will go directly toward my tuition expenses for the final year. With your help, I can graduate and move one step closer where I can support others through counseling and care.
I really appreciate your support from the bottom of my heart and every donation truly helps! I will always be grateful for your kindness and carry it along throughout my life's journey.
Thank you very much for being a part of my story. With your help, I know I can make it!
With gratitude,
Yuki.
