Seven years ago, I started my journey to get my college degree, working full time at a grocery store while attending community college. Now, I'm only one semester away from getting my B.A. in Political Science and English from UMass Boston with a 3.8 GPA. Last month, I found out that a decrease in available financial aid and unexpected car trouble means I'm $2,700 away from paying for my final semester.
I've put in so much time and effort into getting this degree to pursue my dream of being a teacher. Last year, I lived in my car while working part time in order to afford tuition. I'm now fortunate enough to have a place to live, but my car died over the summer, so I need to take the commuter rail which puts me out hundreds of dollars a month.
I'm working as a tutor part-time, but that barely covers the cost of my commute and food. I've begged the financial aid office, but they simply have no money left - they suggested a GoFundMe.
Please help me pay for my final semester of college! I'm so close to graduation, but I can't do it without your help!
