Hi my name is Edna, and I am a third-year Chemical Engineering student at Newcastle University. I am an international student currently in my final semester and hoping to graduate in July. Studying abroad has been a lifelong dream, but it has also been an incredibly difficult journey financially. Over the past three academic years, my family and I have struggled to keep up with tuition payments due to ongoing financial challenges at home. There have been several semesters where I lost access to essential university resources such as my student email, library access, and online learning portal because of outstanding fees.

Despite these challenges, I have received kindness and support from friends, my personal tutor and lecturers who continued to share notes, academic materials, and encouragement, allowing me to keep studying and stay on track.

Through determination and hard work, I have been fortunate to remain the top student in my cohort for the past two academic years. For the first semester of my final year, my family exhausted every possible option, including large loans, to keep me enrolled.

Now, that I am in my final semester, our resources are completely depleted. My family is still trying their best, but we simply do not have the funds needed to cover the remaining tuition in time. Without support, I risk losing access to my studies and everything I have worked so hard to achieve.
