Hello my beautiful community,
I am sure by now everyone knows I am in the process of building my "forever home". Literally top of the bucket list. A dream I have had since i was tiny.
I started a "page's CARPENTRY school" several years back after having lost my income as most of us did due to the COVID pandemic.
Moved to the country, started this amazing school. So far 120 people have walked through these doors and moved the needle closer to being the builder they have always wanted to be.
For me it has been a life changing HONOR to share this lifelong passion of building things. In many ways this has given my life meaning. First was to play music nd make you dance.
Fast forward 4 years, and this summer i decided i would embark on a lifes dream project. To build my own home with my hands.
it was such a no brainer to offer a class to teach al these skills to others. The class sold out right away, and 32 amazing wonderful people have come up and learned the ins and outs of a tiny house build.
WE DID IT!!!!!
I am LITERALLY pinching myself as I type this on my computer sitting in the kitchen of my new home. Although it is not done I have moved in. We just finished the plumbing class and have finished 50 % of the plumbing. Now we are in the first week of the electrical class.
AMAZING!!!!!
This project (build) is turning out exactly as planned with the exception of one minor (MAJOR) detail. I grossly overestimated how much we would accomplish in the actual classes. Which meant I had to basically work around the clock sometime 14 hour days and scramble (with the help of many dear friends and students) to finish that module to have the dwelling ready for the next "module" .
Secondly, as everyone told me that when you do a big building project the estimated cost is usually off by 20 – 25%. So its costing more than I budged for.
AND, the cost of goods has gone up profoundly with this new administration. When I designed the class I had different figures in my budget than what the ACTUAL cost turned out to be.
And lastly I have not been able to work and earn MY living for my living expenses for 4 months. And now I still have 2-3 months still to go.
All that to say………HELP!!!!
I have LITERALLY run out of money and we still have some major things to get done
I need to ask for help.
And by the way, that is not something I am very good at. And its not comfortable, But it is REAL..
My favorite phrase I think I have learned in my life is.
“It Takes a Village”
Well, here is my chance to put that philosophy to work.
Please consider a donation to help your old friend create a safe warm dry home.
Help me make this final HUGE dream a reality.
Also know that at the same time, you will be helping me shepard 32 students over the finish line of all aspects of building a house..
If you could forward to your friends who might want to participate this “Go Fund Me” link…
WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!
Massive thank you's in advance for helping.
