I Never Thought I Would Be Here:
At 53 years old, I never imagined I would be homeless.
I have worked my entire life. I love working. Because I need a hip replacement, I’ve worked from home for years. When my contract ended in February 2025, I truly believed I would quickly find something else.
I did everything I was supposed to do.
I applied for unemployment. I searched for work every day. I completed a 19-week medical billing and coding program in just 5 weeks and passed both certification exams.
But my unemployment ran out. My relationship ended. And I lost my home and my family.
Since then, I’ve stayed in shelters and short motel rooms when I could afford them. I walk with a walker, and being on the street terrifies me. I can’t run. I can’t protect myself. Every night feels uncertain and unsafe.
I’ve reached out to every program I can. I’m on waiting lists with no guarantees. I’ve been told to be patient. But patience is hard when you don’t know where you’ll sleep.
I am exhausted. I am scared. And I am running out of options.
What I’m Asking For
I am trying to raise $3,750 to secure a small, safe place to live and give myself the ability to generate income while I continue my job search.
Stable housing would give me an address, safety, and the chance to focus completely on rebuilding. Right now, without a home base, everything feels unstable. I cannot move forward when I am constantly worried about where I will sleep.
This support would give me something I don’t have right now — stability and a real opportunity to stand on my own again.
I am not asking to be rescued. I am asking for a chance.
From My Heart
It is deeply humbling to ask for help like this. I never thought I would be here. I feel ashamed that I wasn’t better prepared for hardship.
But I cannot do this alone anymore.
If you are able to give, even a small amount, it brings me one step closer to safety and independence. If you can’t, sharing this could mean everything.
Every donation helps move me closer to having a door I can lock, a place to rest, and the chance to rebuild my life.
If you feel moved to help, please consider donating today. I truly have nowhere else to turn.
Thank you for giving me hope when I need it most.
