Help Me Fight My Cancer, So I Can Be Here For My Family!

Hi, my name is Daleen Mast, I am 46 years old. I have recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroendocrine cancer. Please join me and my family in this fight.

Neuroendocrine cancer—a rare and uncommon condition that has affected my abdominal cavity. This cancer is in my small intestines, pancreas, and lymph nodes, also the biggest problem is in my liver. I have a 4x3-inch mass in the right lobe of the liver and several other spots throughout the rest of my liver. Between the lymphatic system and my liver, I have been in more pain than I can normally work with. Despite the overwhelming challenges, I remain optimistic and determined to fight this battle.

However, the costs associated with treatment are astronomical along with our day-to-day expenses. We need your support in this fight, and we need your help.

We are reaching out to you... our friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers, for support. The cost of my treatment and day-to-day bills has become overwhelming, and I need your help to continue this fight. I have not worked in over a year, due to symptoms that I did not understand were connected to this diagnosis. My husband can't work because he is disabled, due to having 4 strokes and a few heart attacks.

My journey began with unexpected symptoms that led me to numerous doctor visits and tests. The diagnosis was a devastating blow - a rare cancer called Neuroendocrine Tumors that requires immediate and extensive treatment. The news shook us but, also sparked an outpouring of love and support. I can't work much because of the pain, so the bills are starting to become an issue. My current cancer team doesn't want to do surgery on my liver, but we are going for a second opinion, down in Indianapolis.

There also is a team in Tampa Florida, that specializes in the cancer that I have, (GI NETs). We may need to fly down as soon as possible.

Cancer treatment is not only physically and emotionally draining but also financially overwhelming. My treatment plan may include surgery and specialized medications. These treatments are essential for my survival, but they come with a hefty price tag that insurance may not fully cover.

My treatment journey is intensive and may include multiple surgeries and rounds of therapy. Additionally, I need specialized medications and regular follow-up appointments to monitor my progress. The financial burden of these treatments may be staggering, and while my insurance covers some of the costs, there are significant out-of-pocket expenses that we can not manage alone.

In addition to the medical bills, my illness has made it difficult to keep up with everyday living expenses. The cost of transportation to and from treatment, rent, utilities, and other bills is piling up. We are doing our best to stay positive and focus on my health, but the financial stress is taking its toll.
