In May 2009, my life changed forever when I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).

For the past 17 years, I have done everything I can to manage this disease and keep moving forward. I have been on more than four different medications in an effort to control my MS. Most recently, I have been receiving Ocrevus, but despite treatment, I continue to experience multiple relapses each year.

MS has brought uncertainty into my life, but it has never taken away my determination to fight.

After years of living with this disease and researching treatment options, I have decided to pursue hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) at Clinica Ruiz in Mexico through HSCT Mexico.

The treatment plan is 28 days, and the cost is $59,500 USD. Clinica Ruiz is FACT-JACIE accredited, and its program provides stem cell therapy for several diseases, including MS.

This is not a decision I have made lightly. It is a major step, both medically and financially, but I feel that I need to give myself the opportunity to fight for my future.

More than anything, I want to be there for my family.

I have an incredible husband and a wonderful 13-year-old son, and they are my world. I want to make memories with my boys. I want to travel, laugh, be active, and enjoy the everyday moments that so many of us take for granted. I want to watch my son grow up and be there for the milestones still ahead of him.

I don’t want MS to take those moments away from me.

My hope is that HSCT will help me stop or slow further MS activity and give me the best opportunity to preserve my health and quality of life for the future. I know there are no guarantees, but I am ready to fight and pursue this opportunity.

The financial cost is overwhelming, which is why I am humbly asking for your help.

The $59,500 USD treatment cost, along with travel, accommodations, medications, and other expenses associated with being away from home for 28 days, is more than our family can manage on our own.

And I don’t want this fundraiser to be just an ask for help. I want it to be a journey we take together.
