Help Me Fight Lung Cancer & Manage Chronic Pain

Hi everyone, my name is Jose Gerardo and I’m reaching out for support as I face one of the toughest battles of my life. In May 2023 at 37 yrs, I was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (adenocarcinoma, stage 4) after visiting the emergency room due to severe pain in my right shoulder and a noticeable change in my posture. Doctors drained 8 liters of fluid from my right lung, and after extensive testing, they confirmed my diagnosis.

One of the most shocking things about my diagnosis is that I have never smoked. Despite this, I am now facing this disease and everything that comes with it.

Since then, I have undergone chemotherapy and started targeted therapy (Tagrisso) in July. Thankfully, my medical treatments are covered by insurance, but the journey has been far from easy. In October, I began experiencing excruciating pain in my upper back, which doctors confirmed is a direct result of the cancer. I was prescribed opioids for the pain, but I had to stop taking them due to severe side effects, including depression and suicidal thoughts.

I’m still working as the sole provider for my family, but my ability to work at full capacity is greatly limited by the pain. In search of relief, I have turned to holistic therapies and alternative treatments like hyperbaric oxygen therapy that have been very effective, but unfortunately, they are not covered by insurance.

That’s why I’m asking for your help. Your donation will go directly toward alternative pain relief treatments and essential expenses that will allow me to continue supporting my family during this difficult time. Ayúdame a Luchar Contra el Cáncer de Pulmón y a Manejar el Dolor Crónico

Hola a todos, mi nombre es Jose Gerardo y hoy recurro a ustedes en busca de apoyo mientras enfrento una de las batallas más difíciles de mi vida. En mayo de 2023, fui diagnosticadocon cáncer de pulmón de células no pequeñas (adenocarcinoma, etapa 4) después de acudir a la sala de emergencias por un dolor intenso en mi hombro derecho y una postura visiblemente afectada. Los médicos drenaron 8 litros de líquido de mi pulmón derecho y, tras varias pruebas, confirmaron mi diagnóstico.

Una de las cosas más impactantes de mi diagnóstico es que nunca he fumado. A pesar de ello, me ha tocado enfrentar esta enfermedad y todo lo que conlleva.

Desde entonces, he pasado por quimioterapia y comencé una terapia dirigida (Tagrisso) en julio 2023 Afortunadamente, mi seguro ha cubierto mis tratamientos médicos, pero el proceso no ha sido nada fácil. En octubre, comencé a experimentar un dolor insoportable en la parte superior de la espalda, y los médicos confirmaron que es parte del cáncer. Me recetaron opioides para el dolor, pero tuve que dejarlos debido a los efectos secundarios graves, como depresión y pensamientos suicidas.

Sigo trabajando, ya que soy el único sostén de mi familia, pero mi capacidad para hacerlo se ha visto muy limitada debido al dolor. En busca de alivio, he probado terapias holísticas y tratamientos alternativos que han funcionado muy bien, pero lamentablemente no están cubiertos por el seguro.

Por eso, hoy pido su ayuda. Su donación se destinará directamente a tratamientos alternativos para el dolor y a cubrir necesidades esenciales que me permitan seguir apoyando a mi familia en este momento tan difícil.
