Exciting News!
On Monday, January 22, Chibuike received exciting news and a great honor. He is one of a select few invited to perform at the prestigious Muson School of Music in Lagos, Nigeria. The musicians selected scored the highest after auditions and interviews held across Nigeria. The concert will be presented Saturday, February 24, in Agip Hall at Muson Center.
Chibuike attended the auditions and interviews held in Port Harcourt, state of Rivers, Nigeria, this past November. The auditions and interviews were in coordination with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, an international music education support and standards organization.
Chibuike Victor is a 19-year old cellist from the city of Onitsha, Anambra, Nigeria, located approximately 475 km (295 miles) from Nigeria’s largest city-state, Lagos. He is currently working with his mentor, world class British cellist, Michael Kevin Jones, to select the solo piece to be performed.
We need to get him to Lagos and ask for your additional support. To contribute to the cost of his travel and lodging for the performance, you can give through a GoFundMe account that has already support the Port Harcourt audition, a new cello, a piano, and other essential items to assist the highly talented musician.
Message from Chibuike :

Lagos.
Many hours away from my home city of Onitsha.
please help me Continue the fight for my right to study to be a Cellist at a full time institution.
From HD :
We are sponsoring this 18 year old super talented musician in his fight to become a professional cellist in Onitsha Nigeria, one of the toughest cities in Africa.
Against the odds and largely self taught he now owns his cello and is competing for a scholarship at the prestigious 'Muson ' music academy in Lagos to study music as a full time student.
We have come this far thanks to your support and that of the Aurora music teachers association.and Grace Tin-Yen Christus
See his inspired story here:
Now is time for us independent sponsors , no matter how modestly, to continue support here to see this project through.
For this reason we appeal to you all , cellists, bikers , music lovers and friends of classical music to give the price of a beer or a ' refresco' to this project
UPDATES : new case on its way.

Thanks to your donations we have been able to make the order for this much needed cello protection and be sure it will reach Chibuike before his November trips to fight for a scholarship place at the prestigious Muson School of Music in Lagos.
None of this would be possible without your donations over the last few days.
Please do share the story so we can follow through on all his musical needs until he is safety installed in a State funded Music institution.
- HD 'Our mission is to help exceptionally gifted young cellists without any possiblies of owning their personal cello, who are fighting for the right to own their' voice' and a chance to compete for state funded full time music education to become profesional musicians everywhere'
