Subject: Personal update and a request for support

Hi friends,

I’m reaching out to share some difficult news and ask for your support.

On Thursday, while home sick, I was notified that I have been temporarily stood down. My employer is investigating comments I made on LinkedIn/Facebook regarding my stance on human rights. My legal counsel has reviewed these posts and maintains they are a protected expression of my values and do not breach any policies.

This action comes at a sensitive time:

Because the authorities and the Human Rights Commissioner could now become involved, I’ve retained legal representation. I’m fortunate to be represented by Greg Barns SC, who is working pro bono; however, his assisting solicitor requires fees to move forward with the case.

To be honest, I am white-knuckling it right now. The stress of facing this while my livelihood is on the line is immense.

I have started a GoFundMe to help cover these essential legal costs. If you are in a position to contribute—even $25 or $50—it would make a massive difference in helping me defend my career and my right to free speech.

Because of the ongoing legalities, I have to keep this post restricted and won't name the workplace publicly. Thank you so much for standing by me.
