My name is Nyla Patterson, and I am the mother of a beautiful, loving, and innocent little girl who is nonverbal and on the autism spectrum. She is my heart, my world, and my everything. She solely depends on me and the people around her to protect her and keep her safe.

Recently, my daughter was sexually assaulted at school. A place I trusted. A place I sent her every day believing she was safe. As a mother, nothing prepares you for that kind of pain. Knowing my child was hurt and could not tell me what happened broke my heart in a way that I cannot even fully explain.

My daughter may not have a voice, but I do. And I will never stop speaking up for her.

I am fighting for her. I am fighting for answers. I am fighting for accountability. Most of all, I am fighting to make sure my baby gets the justice she deserves.

I am asking for help to hire an attorney so I can take the proper legal steps to protect my daughter and hold those responsible accountable. This is not just about my child, it is about making sure no other child has to go through something like this.
