Hello, My name is Salome, and I’m a mother of three children, facing one of the toughest battles of my life. I’ve been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, stage 3 grade 3 breast cancer with metastasis to my lymph nodes, and my journey through treatment is just beginning. As the sole provider for my kids, I’m doing everything I can to keep my family afloat during this challenging time. Unfortunately, the side effects of my treatment have made it impossible for me to work, and my only income is a small amount of TANF, which was recently reduced. To make matters worse, my health insurance has been temporarily discontinued due to a missed appointment, leaving me struggling to navigate these challenges while focusing on healing. I’m raising $5,000 to purchase a reliable car so I can safely get to my treatments, which are expected to last over a year. I currently rely on public transportation, but living in a state with harsh winters—where snow, extreme cold, and strong winds are common—makes this unreliable and risky for my health. Missing treatments or getting sick could delay my recovery and worsen my symptoms, and this is a chance I simply cannot afford to take. Having a car would not only help me get to my medical appointments on time but also alleviate the constant stress and uncertainty that come with relying on others or public transportation. It would allow me to focus on what matters most: my health and being there for my children. Your support, no matter the amount, would mean the world to us. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your friends and family would also be a tremendous help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and generosity. Together, we can make this journey a little easier for my family and me. With gratitude,
Salome
