UPDATE: Fighting for Justice – Still Standing Strong
Dear friends, family, and supporters,
I want to thank each of you who has stood by me throughout this long and difficult journey. Your encouragement, prayers, and donations have carried me through some of the darkest moments of my life.
As many of you know, I was wrongfully terminated from my tenured teaching position with the Howard County Public School System in 2021. Since then, I have been in an ongoing battle for justice—one rooted not just in defending my rights as an educator, but also in standing up to discrimination, retaliation, and systemic failures to accommodate my disability under the ADA.
Despite my termination being ruled a violation of due process by the Maryland State Board of Education in 2022, the school system doubled down, and I was terminated again in 2023 after another hearing. I’ve represented myself throughout this process after my union declined to stand with me. I’ve exhausted nearly every legal avenue to fight for what’s right—and I’m still fighting.
On March 31, 2025, a federal judge granted summary judgment in my ADA case, dismissing it after nearly three years of litigation. This was devastating—especially after the court had earlier said the case warranted further proceedings and had even assigned a Pro Bono attorney for a settlement conference. I had postponed depositions in good faith, encouraged by both the judge and my attorney that we were heading toward settlement. That trust was betrayed.
Now, I’m preparing to appeal that federal decision to the Fourth Circuit. At the same time, my case remains active before the Maryland State Board of Education, where I’ve recently submitted additional arguments addressing procedural failures, retaliation, and the mishandling of performance evaluations.
I’ve also submitted a final, reasonable settlement demand to the school system, in hopes of resolving this matter fairly. I’ve kept all relevant parties informed—including their insurance provider, the State Board, and even the Attorney General’s office. Still, they refuse to come to the table.
This fight has never been about revenge—it’s about truth, dignity, and ensuring that no other educator has to go through what I have. I’m doing everything I can to get my job back, secure the back pay I’m owed, and hold those responsible accountable.
Every dollar you’ve donated helps me stay afloat during this storm—covering legal fees, medical expenses for therapy, and everyday survival while I continue the battle. If you can, please share my story. If you’re able, please donate again.
Justice is not a guarantee—but with your help, I still believe it’s possible.
With gratitude and resilience,
