Hello friends ,
My name is Mohammed Okal, I’m 22 years old and currently in my third year (pre-final year) of studying Computer Systems Engineering at Al-Azhar University in Gaza.
For more than two years, we’ve been living under continuous war. In that time, I’ve lost friends, relatives, professors — and the home I grew up in. Our house in Al-Karama neighborhood was heavily damaged, forcing us to leave.
Since then, I’ve been displaced five times — from Al-Karama to Rafah, Khan Younis, Al-Zawaida, back to our damaged home, and then displaced again just two months ago due to renewed attacks.

I stayed in a UNRWA shelter with tens of thousands of people, believing it was safe — until tanks entered and artillery fire forced us out. I witnessed a missile strike that killed 12 people right in front of me. That moment will never leave me.

Still, I refused to give up.
During displacement, I volunteered as a data entry worker. I applied to universities abroad and received several preliminary acceptances. But I’m stuck.

The borders are mostly closed. And even when they briefly open, I don’t have the financial means to cover the basics: passport, travel, relocation, or registration fees.
To leave Gaza and finish my education in a safe, stable place — by completing my degree or starting a master’s program abroad. I’m not asking for luxury — just a chance to survive, to study, and to rebuild.
What Your Support Will Cover:
Passport and legal documents
Exit and travel costs from Gaza
Accommodation and basic living expenses
University registration or tuition fees
Fundraising Goal: $9,000 (approx. 95,000 Kr)
I’m doing everything I can to take control of my future.
I’ve held on through war, loss, and displacement — and now, I’m asking for a lifeline.
Every single contribution — no matter how small — brings me closer to safety and to a future I can believe in.
If you’re not able to donate, please consider sharing this with someone who might.
Thank you for reading,
