Campaign Goal: £10,000
Relocation Timeline: June 2026

Why Is This Important?

Hello :)
My name is Day Eve.

I’m raising funds to relocate to London and bring Dreams Exist on Earth, a four-year Afrofuturist theatre project, to the stage in 2026.

I am an autistic, neurodivergent writer and multimedia artist currently living in Berlin. After seven years in the German-speaking world- shaped by estrangement, leaving an abusive relationship, depression. I am asking for help to leave and begin living again.

I came to Berlin seeking safety, artistic freedom, and stability. Instead, I have experienced increasing precarity: shrinking cultural funding, rising political hostility, and living conditions that are no longer sustainable-especially as a Black, queer, neurodivergent person.

For the past four years, I have survived month to month while developing a play entitled Dreams Exist on Earth, which will be produced in 2026. The play has been tested and is ready; but it needs to exist in a place where it can grow. Moving to London is a necessary step for me to deepen my work as a cultural worker who uses art as a vehicle to make revolution irresistible.

This campaign is about creating the stability needed to move, secure housing, and fully commit to bringing this work to the stage.

What I’m Moving For

I am currently developing Dreams Exist on Earth, a multidisciplinary Afrofuturist play that has been four years in the making.

During its development, the work has been presented at:

XJAZZ Festival (2023) — with Angel Bat Dawid and Natalie Greffel

XJAZZ Festival (2024) — opening for Shabaka Hutchings

Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW)— (2023)

Camden People’s Theatre — (2023)

AfroPolitan Berlin — (2022)

I have shared stages with world-renowned jazz artists and am already in conversation with theatres. The production will begin in 2026. However, it cannot happen if I remain stuck in a city where my work is undervalued and my survival consumes all of my energy.

Why London

Although I was born in London, I have never lived there as an adult. After coming out as queer in 2018, I became estranged from my biological family and do not have a built-in support network there.

Returning is not easy but it is necessary. Sometimes you need to go back in order to move forward.

London is where this work makes sense: where the collaborators and audiences are, and where the play can live fully. During a recent visit in 2025, I felt this with clarity and certainty. Dreams Exist on Earth is necessary work for troubling times; and I will not disappoint.

My goal is to relocate by June 2026 so rehearsals and production planning can begin in earnest.

Who I Am

My name is Day Eve Komet.

I am a writer, philosopher, and multimedia artist working across performance, sound, and text. I am a multi-spirited individual and a shapeshifting time-trickster who imagines new worlds and dismantles old ones through performance, sound, and collective storytelling. I am also a decolonial facilitator and grief facilitator.

Since beginning my artistic career full-time in 2020, my world-making exhibition My Servants Master has been exhibited in four countries. My work encourages feeling, thinking, dreaming, and growing the new worlds we deserve, creating spaces where we can imagine together.

I am autistic and neurodivergent, and prolonged instability takes a serious toll on my mental and physical health. Asking for help is not easy but it is essential if I want to move forward without burning out or disappearing.
