Help Me Escape a Dangerous Apartment Complex

Hi, my name is Addie and I've lived at my apartment complex for individuals with a Serious Mental Illness (SMI) diagnosis for two years now. I currently live in a complex with relatively no security and a LOT of criminal activity. Throughout my time here, property management has proven time and time again that they will not take any sort of action against illegal activity until someone gets hurt. Recently, I've had two of my tires slashed and came outside today to a third flat tire. There have also been SEVERAL reports of people attempting to break into the other units, and many residents have woken up at night to their back yards open, occasionally with someone inside of it. I begged, pleaded, and wrote letters to officials begging them to do something to up our security measures. So far, in the two whole years that I've been here, nothing has been done to make our property safer.

I am starting this fundraiser because I have not been able to rest peacefully in my own home for a long time now. These particular incidents may have only stretched across the past four weeks, but there have been so many more that have gone completely unaddressed. I am tired of having people looking through my windows. I am so tired of jumping at every single noise, wondering if I'll have to fight for my life. I'm so tired of being scared.

This money will be put towards getting myself a new apartment with my boyfriend, renting a U-Haul to transport my belongings, as well as a little bit of money that will be put towards getting another tow truck and another tire. This will not only ensure that I am in a safer place, but it will be a HUGE benefit to my mental health.
