This year, I was hit with unexpected dental debt totaling $4,377 (see attached documentation) due to UnitedHealthcare denying me coverage because, according to the claim, it is "medically unnecessary" for me to be able to chew. I was able to chip away at some of it, but I need help with the rest.
Two dental implants I got five years ago that enable me to chew on the right side of my mouth failed this year. In June 2025, I was billed $2,721 for replacement of the abutment (screw) and crown on one implant. In September 2025, I was billed an additional $1,656 for removal of the other implant and for a bone graft due to a gum infection that impacted the foundation of this other implant.
These two visits, which UnitedHealthcare deemed "medically unnecessary," resulted in over $4,000 in dental debt that I've been struggling to pay off. This is why I need your help. Any amount you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.
