✈️ Help Me Earn My Wings: Black Woman in Aviation

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Juliana, and I’m reaching out with deep hope and humility.
I was born and raised in Guyana, where my love for aviation first took root. Even as a young girl watching planes soar overhead, I knew I wanted to be the one at the controls. While my dreams were sky-high, access to the resources to pursue them was limited.

I am currently studying Aviation at University while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and earning Dean's List recognition and Omega Nu Lambda honoree. I have submitted applications to more than 200 scholarship programs while dedicating myself to academic success, spiritual growth and financial stability.
But now, I’ve come to a place where passion and effort alone aren’t enough. To move forward in my journey, I need your help.

The Challenge:

The first requirement for obtaining a pilot license involves finishing the Private Pilot License (PPL), which represents the initial flight training milestone that exceeds $16,000 in expenses. I have exhausted all financial resources, including aid programs and loans, and scholarships, yet I remain unable to afford the expenses. The total expenses for flight hours and ground school education and check ride fees, and training materials exceed what I can afford at present.

I’ve come so far on faith, sacrifice, and sheer determination, but now, I need a lift I can’t give myself. This isn’t just about flying a plane; it’s about rising above every limit I was born into. I’m not asking for a handout, I’m asking for a hand up, so I can soar and one day lift others the way you’ve lifted me.

✊ Why This Matters Beyond Me:

I belong to the minority group of Black women who comprise less than 1% of all U.S. pilots. The process of obtaining my license serves as more than a personal achievement because it establishes representation while making aviation more visible to future generations. I aim to bring my aviation expertise back to Guyana and underserved U.S. areas to show young girls, especially girls who look like me, that the sky is not the limit, but only the beginning.

Every time I close my eyes, I see myself in the cockpit, not just for me, but for every little girl in every underserved corner of the world who’s been told her dreams are too big. Your support isn’t just helping me fly; it’s telling her she can too.

How You Can Help:

If you believe in:

• Breaking barriers
• Empowering women of color
• Supporting first-generation students
• Changing the face of aviation

Then I humbly ask you to consider donating. Every dollar goes directly toward my flight training, helping me take this crucial next step toward becoming a commercial pilot.

Even if you can’t give, sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world.

Thank you for reading, for believing, and for being part of this journey. I promise to carry your support with me in the cockpit and beyond and to pay it forward for years to come.

With gratitude and hope,
Juliana
