This is one of the hardest things I’ve had to write, but I’m learning that sometimes strength means asking for help.
My name is Jordyn, and after a year of hard work, healing, and rediscovering myself, I’ve finally graduated from cosmetology school. Becoming a licensed cosmetologist has been my dream — a chance to turn my passion for beauty and self-expression into a career that empowers others to feel confident and seen.
For me, doing hair isn’t just a job. It’s an art. It's a connection. More importantly, it is healing. And as a trans woman who’s spent years helping others through fitness and movement, this next chapter represents freedom — the ability to work doing something I love, support my kids, and build a life filled with purpose and authenticity.
But right now, my license can’t be issued until I pay off a remaining debt owed to Victoria’s Academy of Cosmetology. It’s not a huge amount, but it’s more than I can manage on my own. Without paying this off, I can’t officially receive my license or begin my career — and that’s a dream I’ve worked far too hard to give up on now.
Every dollar helps me get one step closer to being fully licensed and able to support myself. Your kindness will directly help me create a stable career where I can continue uplifting others — especially LGBTQ+ clients who deserve affirming, safe beauty services.
If you can help, in any way — whether it’s a donation, a share, or words of encouragement — it would mean everything to me. You wouldn’t just be helping me pay off a bill. You’d be helping me step into a new life, a career filled with passion and purpose, and the chance to finally stand tall as me.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
With love and gratitude,
Jordyn
