Help Me Document the Human Stories of U.S. Deportees
My name is Tal. I’m a documentary storyteller traveling through Latin America to meet and film the lives of people recently deported from the United States.
These are people who often were brought to the US as small children, and went on to build families, friendships, and lives, only to be sent back to countries they barely know, often with no support system, no resources, and no roadmap for starting over.
I meet them in the countries where they are, in their new reality, and share their stories through raw, honest interviews. My goal is to humanize their stories. I have no agenda, I simply wish to bring visibility to lives that are often ignored or misunderstood, and to hopefully create a path towards empathy and understanding that's difficult to achieve though bombastic headlines or statistics.
I'm willing to go anywhere in the world to tell stories that no one else is motivated to tell.
Right now, I’m entirely self-funded. Every flight, bus ride, meal, and place I stay comes directly from my own pocket. I have no grants, sponsors, or backing of any kind. Just my phone, a mic, and a commitment to telling human stories with respect, integrity & neutrality.
Your support will help me:
• Travel to meet deportees in the countries they were sent to
• Spend time documenting their day-to-day lives and struggles
• Edit and publish their stories for free on YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms
• Keep this work independent and unfiltered
Every contribution will help keep me on the road and behind the camera, giving voice to people who have lost nearly everything.
If you believe in independent storytelling and in shining light on complex human stories, please consider donating or sharing this campaign.
Thank you for helping me keep going.
