HELP ME CURE MAX, AN ABANDONED SICK DOG, BACK TO HEALTH

Hi, I am starting this fundraising to assist so that my sister can keep nurse an abandoned dog back to health because he has no one else, if she doesn't he'll probably die. Here's her plea, word for word:

my name is Gabriella. I am a marine biologist, I recently moved to Guam for a short term position at the University of Guam.

Since I moved here, I was shocked by the exaggerated number of stray dogs on the island, who suffer from lack of food, medical care and often get run over by cars...

This stray dog, which I named Max, showed up in our garden during a storm. He was very underweight, so much that you could see the ribs, and really hungry. (you can see it in the pics). But he was really calm, friendly, looked for cuddles and wanted to play. He also sat for food, suggesting he was someone's dog and they abandoned him :(

I took it on me to rescue him and find him an adoptive family, as I am in Guam only for short time and it is extremely expensive and almost impossible to ship dogs out of the island. I brought him to the vet, and already paid over 300 $ of vaccinations, blood tests and flea/ticks and de-worming treatments...but he turned out to be positive to the heartworm, a parasite that wraps around the heart and kills dogs.

The vet told me the treatment is 700-800 $ depending on how it goes, plus the preventative treatment afterwards.

I am already struggling with my basic expenses, so over 1000$ of vet bills is too much for me and I would really appreciate some financial help. Please help me get Max treated and back to health, so I can hopefully get him adopted!

He is such a good dog, and he was abandoned once, I can't turn my back to him and break his heart again :(

Ciao, ho iniziato questo fundraiser per andare in supporto a mia sorella che sta tentando di salvare un cagnolino abbandonato, non ha nessun altro ed è gravemente malato, se lei non riesce a sostenere le spese mediche probabilmente morirà. Questo è il suo appello:

Mi chiamo Gabriella, sono una biologa marina, mi sono di recente trasferita a Guam per una posizione di un anno presso l'Università di Guam. Appena arrivata sono rimasta scioccata dal numero folle di cani randagi sull'isola che muoiono di fame, sono privi di cure mediche e spesso vengono investiti in macchina.

Un randagio, che io ho chiamato Max, si è presentato nel mio giardino durante una tempesta. Era scheletrico, potevi vedere le sue costole, affamato (lo potete notare nelle foto), eppure calmo, amichevole, cercava coccole e tentava di giocare. Si è anche seduto appena ho fatto per dargli del cibo, il che suggerisce che era il cane di qualcuno, ed è stato abbandonato...

Ho preso la decisione di prendermi cura di lui intanto che cerco una famiglia adottiva (perché a fine anno probabilmente andrò via da Guam e trasferire un cane fuori dall'isola richiede cifre folli, altrimenti lo porterei con me). L'ho portato dal veterinario e ho già pagato 300 dollari di vaccinazioni, analisi, sverminamento, antiparassitari... purtroppo però è positivo alla filaria, un parassita che si aggroviglia intorno al cuore e uccide i cani. Il veterinario mi ha detto che il trattamento costa 700-800 dollari, a seconda di come procede, più il trattamento preventivo da fare successivamente.

Io sono già in difficoltà con le spese base, per cui 1000e+ dollari di conto dal veterinario è troppo per le mie sole tasche, devo chiedere aiuto. Per favore, aiutatemi a curare e salvare Max, permettetemi di guarirlo e trovargli una nuova famiglia.

E' un cane veramente bravo e buono, è già stato abbandonato una volta, non posso e non voglio voltargli la schiena e spezzargli il cuore di nuovo. Mi sono addirittura dovuta spostare a casa di un'amica con lui, perché il proprietario di casa non mi permette di tenerlo e voleva che lo cacciassi dalla proprietà. Sto attualmente cercando un modo per restare insieme. Questo è il modo in cui trattano i cani a Guam...
