Hi, my name is Vanessa Avila. For the past three years, I have been on an intense journey pursuing my Doctorate in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Special Education all while raising and nurturing my six wonderful children. It has been a marathon of love, late-night writing, and unwavering commitment, all driven by a single dream: to use this degree to create more inclusive, effective systems for students with special needs and to build a lasting legacy for my family.
I am now on the final lap. My dissertation research is nearly complete, and the milestone I’ve poured my heart into is finally within reach.
But I’ve encountered a hurdle I didn’t foresee: I have run completely out of funding. Like many graduate student parents, I’ve stretched every resource to its limit. To continue this final phase without an interruption that could delay my graduation by months, I urgently need to cover essential university fees, required software, and basic needs so I can focus entirely on finishing.
I am humbly asking for your support to raise $2,000. This is the bridge that will allow me to move forward without stopping.
Why this matters: These funds will let me register for my final dissertation semester, maintain access to critical research databases, and ensure my family’s stability during these last few weeks of writing and defense.
What I’m doing: I am actively arranging a formal payment plan for the remaining university balance. This $2,000 represents the immediate need to prevent registration holds, late fees, and disruption at this critical time.
My research and passion are centered on improving leadership in special education advocating for systems that serve every child. Now, as a hardworking mom and scholar, I’m reaching out for a little help to finish what I started.
Any contribution $5, $25, or even a share of this page will make a profound difference. You’re not just helping me pay a bill; you’re investing in the future of special education leadership and helping a mother show her six children that with perseverance and community, dreams come true.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story, for your belief in me, and for any support you can offer.
With hope and gratitude,
Vanessa Avila
