Spirit Guitar — Music for Release & a Future Place of Healing
Hi, I’m ESE (Julia Ese Otobo) — a Nigerian soul artist.
I make music for release.
Spirit Guitar began in 2023 during a period when I was learning how to let go of grief, silence, and years of feeling muted in my voice. I wrote these songs slowly, in private spaces, without industry backing, following a simple inner call: sing, and release.

With the first donation received so far, one of the songs, Hands of Time, is already finished and being shared with listeners.
This campaign exists to finish Spirit Guitar with care and release it into the world.
What You’re Supporting Right Now.
Your support goes directly toward completing the Spirit Guitar EP, including:
Studio recording, mixing & mastering
Paying collaborating musicians fairly.
Distribution & release costs.
This is a listener-supported project — not commercial, not rushed.
Why This Music Exists
Spirit Guitar is music for people who are carrying something.
It’s for moments of transition, grief, remembering, and release.
Music helped me let go when I needed it most. Now I want to pass that on.
The Longer Vision
This music is part of a longer journey.
Alongside Spirit Guitar, I’m slowly building toward a simple off-grid healing space on ancestral land in Anambra , a place for listening, rest, and community gatherings in the future.
That vision will unfold over time.
This campaign focuses on one clear step: finishing and releasing Spirit Guitar.

ESE
