My name is Am (anonymous for safety reasons).

I am reaching out for help to rebuild my life after years of severe hardship. I am a survivor of childhood and domestic abuse, including FGM, sexual, and emotional abuse. To escape these environments, I had to move constantly, leaving everything behind. The trauma and constant stress have severely impacted my physical and mental health, and I am currently experiencing PTSD alongside chronic physical health issues. I have no family support and rely on a few close friends.

I was recently allocated a permanent council flat in London. While I am incredibly grateful for a safe roof over my head, the property is a completely bare, empty shell. Managing chronic health conditions and trauma while living on limited benefits makes it impossible to fix this flat alone. I am lucky to have a bed and white goods, but the flat needs significant work. The walls are completely bare and stripped back, the bathroom needs painting, and the kitchen floor is old, bare laminate. Local charities are unfortunately unable to fund the heavy commercial costs of trade labour.

I am raising funds to turn this flat into a warm, healing environment so I can finally settle down and find stability.

How the funds will be used:

Professional Painting (£2,000): Full professional wall preparation and painting for the entire flat, including the bathroom, to make it clean and liveable.

Kitchen Flooring (£250): Professional supply and installation of safe, clean lino/vinyl flooring over the old kitchen floor.

Essential Furniture (£1,000): Wardrobes, a chest of drawers, a sofa, and a small dining table with chairs.

Kitchen & Household Essentials (£200): Pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, towels, and privacy curtains.

General Fees & Other Items (£500): For unexpected setup costs, tools, or small essential fixtures.
