Hockey has been a lifelong passion of mine, and as a goaltender, my helmet is more than just protection—it’s a canvas to tell a story. I’m raising funds for a custom airbrush paint job by Mickey Columbo (who has also dealt with Cancer) for my goalie mask that will pay tribute to Hockey Fights Cancer, honoring not only my own journey of overcoming melanoma twice but also the countless friends, family members, and fellow hockey fans who have battled or are currently fighting cancer.
This project isn’t just about a helmet—it’s about raising awareness and giving back. Every time I take the ice, this mask will serve as a tribute to those we’ve lost, those who are still fighting, and the strength of the hockey community in standing together against this disease. The funds raised will go directly toward the cost of painting the mask, and any remaining funds will be donated 100% to cancer research through the V Foundation, helping to support groundbreaking research and provide hope to those in need.
Also, I will be adding initials to those we’ve lost or who are currently fighting within the ribbons and maple leafs of the helmet.
Any contribution, big or small, helps bring this vision to life and supports an incredible cause. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me!
