Help Me Create a Cozy Learning Space for My Kindergarteners

Hi friends,

I’m Ana Cruz, a bilingual kindergarten teacher at a Title I school and I absolutely love what I do. Every day, I get to teach some of the most curious, kind, and resilient little humans you’ll ever meet. Many of my students come from families who are working incredibly hard with limited resources, and I do my best to make our classroom feel like a safe, warm, and joyful place where they can thrive.

Right now, I’m trying to raise money for a new classroom rug. I know a rug doesn’t sound like a big deal. But in a kindergarten room, it is. It’s where we sit together for stories, morning meetings, songs, and big conversations. It’s where we build our classroom community.

Here’s the extra special part, if I’m able to get a new rug, my current one will be passed along to a Pre-K classroom in our school that’s in desperate need of one. Their rug has seen better days, and I know this small gesture would make a huge difference for their students too.
